Wall Stripes

    1. Apparently early in Davis career he worked with horizontal stripes. But then he thought they too nearly imitated the landscape and, since he was seeking greater abstraction, he subsequently began working with vertical stripes instead. At least, that's the impression I got from the exhibition.
