Festival Map

You're right, the crowds last Saturday were terrible. So I took a quick glance at my festival map and made the decision to cut short my clockwise circumnavigation of the Tidal Basin at the bridge just past the George Mason Memorial and head over and across what we call the National Mall to the Japanese American Memorial to Patriotism During WWII--one of my favorite destinations for seeing cherry blossoms in all their glory but without the crowds.

  1. The cherry blossom on the map indicates Japan instantly. Graphical very well thought out.

  4. I agree with your dislike of crowds. But I have to say, the only crowd I really like to be in is at a baseball game. Somehow that sort of crowd is acceptable! Wish I could see those cherry blossoms, a bit of sun breaking through now but still grey and no cherry blossom in sight for quite a while here in my corner of S Ontario.

  7. You made the right choice RR. From the look of the crowds in yesterday's shot, they were better snapped from afar!
