Pudding?

No white pudding for me, thank you. Yuck!

Black pudding is a type of blood sausage commonly eaten in Great Britain, Ireland and in other parts of Europe. It is generally made from pork fat or beef suet, pork blood and a relatively high proportion of oatmeal, in some recipes mixed with oat groats and sometimes even barley groats.

White pudding or oatmeal pudding is similar to black pudding, but does not include blood; it consists of pork meat and fat, suet, bread and oatmeal formed into a large sausage (Wikipedia).

  1. In Dutch the word pudding means mostly the dessert in the form of a stiff vanilla pudding.

  2. I would be knocked out for the rest of the day when I had this for breakfast! Can't imagine to start the day with so much food.

  3. Not the healthiest of breakfast. What the hell, I'd still eat it. You only live once... eh!

  5. I tried black pudding when I was in London a few years ago. Never again! I doubt I would try the white pudding.

    1. I had a "wee" taste of the black pudding, too, Lois. Not too off-putting, but, like you, definitely NOT an experience I'm likely to repeat. Ditto on the white pudding. :-)

  6. Here a continental breakfast is most common, and also what I prefer. No bacon or sausages or whatever for me in the morning! ;)

  10. You wouldn't get the whole pudding (shaped like a sausage), just a couple of slices.

  11. I think I'll skip this one too, except extra tomatoes please. The British breakfast comes with cooked tomatoes too I was happy to discover! All kidding aside I would taste those puddings because I've learned that sometimes those things we think are icky might be delicious!
